National Scout Jamboree Astronauts trading cards were produced by the ConTel Corporation for the Boy Scouts of America. Complete 12-card sets were distributed to attendees of the National Scout Jamboree held August 2–8, 1989, at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. The theme of the quadrennial gathering focused on exploration, symbolized by the Space Shuttle.

The series features official NASA photographs of twelve different astronauts. Four of the astronauts achieved the Boy Scout rank of Eagle Scout: Neil Armstrong, Guion Bluford, Gerald Carr, and James Lovell.

The Astronauts collection includes Sally Ride, the first American woman to travel into space. The 1989 National Scout Jamboree was the first year that female Explorer Scouts attended as participants.
