1974 Sugar Puffs : Into the Unknown: Exploration & Adventure
  Into the Unknown No. 1: Exploration & Adventure trading cards were issued in 1974 by Quaker
  Oats Limited. The illustrated 12-card series was printed on boxes of
  Sugar Puffs cereal. The Series 1 collection showcases famous explorers throughout history from Alexander
  the Great to Soviet Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Each cut-away card panel measures approximately
  1.375 x 2.625 (67 x 36 mm).
  "Gagarin was the first man to travel in space. On April 12th. 1961 his 42 ton
  Vostok 1 space craft orbited the earth once in 1 hour 29 minutes at a maximum
  speed of 17,560 miles per hour and at a maximum altitude of 203 miles. Major
  Gagarin, invested a Hero of the Soviet Union, and awarded the Order of Lenin
  and Gold Star Medal, never went into space again, but helped to train other
  cosmonauts. The town of Gzhatsk where he was born was renamed Gagarin in his
  honour. He was killed on a routine training flight in a jet plane in 1968."
