2015 Topps Heritage Baseball Trading Cards
2015 Topps Heritage Baseball Trading Cards were released by The Topps
Company, Inc. on March 6, 2015. The collection recreates the vintage design
of the 1966 Topps Baseball series. Each hobby box contains 24 packs
with 9 cards per pack. Each blaster box contains 8 packs with 9 cards per
pack. Hanger boxes contain 35 cards. Insert odds vary for each release.
The odds of finding a "1966 News Flashbacks" insert are approximately 1:12
hobby packs, 1:12 retail packs, and 1:4 hanger boxes.
The ten-card subset includes a cropped photograph of the Catena Abulfeda crater chain taken by Lunar Orbiter
4 in May 1967 (IV-089-H2) . The Abulfeda lunar crater is partially visible in the top left of the card image. The Almanon crater is visible in the lower left and the Tactius crater is seen in the lower right.
Lunar Orbiter 1 was
launched by an Atlas SLV-3 Agena-D on August 10, 1966. NASA launched
five Lunar Orbiter spacecraft from August 1966 through August 1967. The Lunar Orbiter spacecraft were manufactured by The Boeing Company. Lunar
Orbiter 1 decayed on October 29, 1966.
"Four years after President Kennedy called for a lunar landing, NASA's
Orbiter 1 entered the moon's gravitational field. Launched on August 10,
1966, the unmanned spacecraft made 577 lunar orbits. On August 23, it took
the first picture of Earth from the moon's vicinity."
